Final thoughts

* So often, TV sideline interviews are stupid, staged and silly. But will any of us ever forget the incredible emotion Brett Favre just showed during his postgame interview? Speaking with Andrea Kramer, Favre started to cry, almost sob. What a real, awesome display of a man's love for a game. Favre always shared his emotions with us, and this was no exception. Unlike so many selfish or overly polished athletes, Favre is, for sure, REAL.

Favre didn't confirm his career is over, but his actions spoke volumes. Could it be that the great career of Brett Favre is over?

* Even the most cynical, demanding Packers fan can't possibly deny that this year was a good one for this franchise, for the following reasons:

Green Bay won its last four games of the season.

Breakout defensive linemen Cullen Jenkins and Corey Williams showed signs of greatness.

Veterans Aaron Kampman, Donald Driver and Charles Woodson had career years.

According to NBC, there are 21 players 25 or younger on the roster. Young players like the three rookie offensive linemen, Ruvell Martin and Patrick Dendy showed some potential.

* As for the Bears, wow, did they look poor. If they lose their playoff opener in two weeks, Packers fans can take great joy in knowing they helped end Chicago's season tonight.
